Kent Butcher, MBA

President & Chief Executive Officer
Registered Investment Advisor Representative

Kent joined UPAL in the fall of 2014. His focus will be on applying his knowledge and experience of healthcare administration to help achieve the mission of UPAL for providing high-value services and products.

Prior to joining UPAL Kent served as Chief Executive Officer of Oklahoma Oncology, Inc. and as a medical practice consultant for 15 years. His career includes thirty-four years in senior level healthcare management. He graduated with honors from Oklahoma City University achieving an MBA and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Kent is a former co-chairperson of the Community Oncology Alliance, Administrators Network and a former President of the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators.  He has served as a Board member for the OSMA Health plan, as well as on the Grant Evaluation Committee for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Tulsa chapter. He is a member of the local, state, and national chapters of the MGMA and has participated on numerous professional advisory boards.

Kent is the Finance Committee Chairman for Fellowship Lutheran Church and the Treasurer for the Arkansas/Oklahoma Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

Kent and his wife, Susan, enjoy spending time with their family and especially with the new grandbaby. His personal interests include travel, gardening, golf, swimming & scuba diving.

Lea Ann Nunley

Vice President Retirement Plan Services
Registered Investment Advisor Representative

Lea Ann joined UPAL in 2000. She has 25 years of experience in the defined contribution plan sector. Lea Ann was awarded her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Central University in 1989.

Lea Ann designs and installs qualified retirement plans to meet the desired goals of members, as well as continually monitoring and updating all qualified retirement plans for compliance with various legislative changes to rules and regulations. In addition, Lea Ann conducts enrollment meetings and also performs annual and quarterly contribution calculations and planning. She is a member of the Tulsa Employee Benefits Group and the Oklahoma Medical Group Management Association.

Lea Ann is a native of Tulsa and she enjoys spending time with her family and playing golf.

 

Kelly Hanson

Accountant

Kelly brings a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Tulsa and delectable baked goods to the UPAL office. She not only keeps the company books balanced but also prepares each retirement plan’s quarterly and final contribution calculations and assists physicians with Form 5500 electronic filing.

Kelly loves snow skiing when possible, but country western dancing is a favorite pastime as well. She is active at Northside Christian Church as the Wee Worship Coordinator and Nursery/Preschool Volunteer.

Rhonda Wilson

Retirement Plan Administrator

Rhonda has assisted UPAL members for 16 years with questions regarding their retirement accounts. She monitors retirement plan contributions and benefit plan limits, as well as obtaining the information needed to assist with quarterly and year-end contribution calculations. Rhonda also has the privilege of processing distribution requests, employee and employer deferrals, and loan applications. That’s a lot of paper, folks!

Rhonda is married with two grown sons, and enjoys reading, watching movies and the outdoors.

 

Amy Prentice

Manager of Marketing and Client Relations
Registered Investment Advisor Representative

Amy joined the UPAL team in 2013. In addition to coordinating UPAL’s marketing efforts, she is responsible for evaluating the needs of our clients and physician members as well as building and maintaining our preferred business partner programs.  Her background is in provider & public relations, communications, and coordinating events such as educational webinars and CE seminars for healthcare professionals.  Amy is a Certified Professional Coder and a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders with experience in physician office coding and billing.  She also has a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern State University. Amy serves the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics as their state-wide Executive Director.

Amy enjoys spending time in the great outdoors gardening, cycling, camping, backpacking, and hiking with her husband, daughter and Labrador Retriever.

Joanna Morton

Retirement Program Analyst & IT Specialist

Joanna joined our staff in 2011. She came with a background of medical and dental front office work and a strong grounding in computer basics. She helps process employee and employer deferrals, generates invoices, makes sure our computers get the general maintenance they require, and works to keep our website current.

Joanna graduated magna cum laude from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with an emphasis in Stage Management. Having found the theatre schedule too difficult to maintain with four active children, she now amuses herself with local theatre projects and activities with the Society for Creative Anachronism. Joanna can be seen most Sunday mornings on Channel 8, singing in the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church choir.

Kathy Doering, CAP

Administrative Assistant

Kathy has been an essential member of the UPAL team for 24 years. When you call the office, you are 90% likely to speak to Kathy first! She broadcasts special notices to our members, arranges meetings and seminars, and creates books to help member employees understand their retirement plan.

Kathy graduated from Oklahoma State University with her Bachelor of Science in Executive Secretarial Administration in 1979, and has attained professional rating as a Certified Professional Secretary. Kathy is an active member of the Tulsa Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. She has been lauded as an outstanding member of IAAP and has in the past served as its President.

Kathy and her husband have three grown children and three grandchildren. She enjoys camping with her family any chance she gets, and is active in the women’s organization at church.
